The Bournville Story
Bournville is one of the most unique places in the world. Over 120 years ago, George Cadbury’s garden village first provided affordable, quality housing to his workers and demonstrated how the lives of working people in this country could be improved.
This uniqueness should be recognised by having Bournville nominated as a World Heritage Site. World Heritage Sites are those sites felt by the United Nations UNESCO organisation to be sites in the world of outstanding cultural value.
The UK already has 31 World Heritage sites, many of them reflecting our industrial history, such as the Derwent Valley Mills, Ironbridge and Saltaire.
