Join our campaign to get LTN right
As you know, Birmingham City Council is in the process of implementing further traffic calming measures across Bournville, which will include blocking off roads and forcing traffic onto main roads. You can take a look at the information available by clicking the link below. The Council’s LTN measures have had a mixed rate of success, to say the least. Let’s get this one right!
We are aware that certain traffic calming measures in Bournville are widely supported by residents in some form. We are concerned, however, about the wider impact of the closing of some roads and the concentration of traffic on others. In particular, not only will this make it more difficult for those who need to use a car to get around, but it will also concentrate pollution in hotspots many of which are key pedestrian routes for young people and children.
As Local Conservatives, we want to ensure that residents’ voices are heard on any future traffic calming measures. Please do join the Facebook group, which we encourage you to share with your family, friends and neighbours. This way we can raise awareness and ensure there are as many residents onboards as possible.

When introducing schemes such as this, it is important to work with residents so community support can be maintained and further issues will not arise in the future.
